Your time at Tryall is for you to enjoy, you need never visit the Commissary as the villa staff will take care of this for you, your clothes will be washed and ironed each day, and the butler or head of house can schedule activities for you such as golf, tennis or one of the twice-weekly beach dinner events – or you can pre-arrange them with guest services prior to arrival – and the chef is there to tantalize your taste buds and cater to your personal whim and inclination. If you fancy having a party while with us with live music and entertainment, just let us know and we will organize everything.
Prior to arrival at Tryall, we will send you a food list for the arrival dinner and first breakfast. On this form you can tell us what you would like for dinner the first evening, specify what beverages you would like stocked at the villa and advise us of any allergies amongst the party. The villa staff will collect these supplies from the Commissary so that the moment you arrive, you can start to enjoy your holiday. On the first full day, the chef and butler will sit with you and your family so that you can discuss menu options, and decide what you would like to eat throughout the course of your stay and what proteins you prefer. The on-site Commissary can provide most ingredients and fresh fish can be delivered directly to the villa on a daily basis – simply tell the chef what you would like and he will make contact with the local fishermen. For a wider selection of foods and fresh produce, we are able to offer a purchase order facility for shopping at Mega Mart, one of the principal supermarkets in Montego Bay. We will also send you a wine and spirit list which enables you to choose wines by the bottle or by the case as well as your choice of spirits so that they can be delivered to your villa, ready for your arrival.
Many of our villas have their own productive kitchen gardens, two have apiaries and all guests are welcome to explore the Club’s Organic Garden where we grow all manner of produce for use in the Beach Restaurant; and Great House Restaurant. If you have a love of flowers and want to know what is what, simply ask the villa gardeners and they will delight in showing you as well as allowing you to discover the many fruit trees that flourish here.
Upon arrival at Tryall, you can open a charging account by leaving a credit card deposit. This will allow all commissary items, meals at the Beach Café, tennis, sessions on our Montego Bay golf course, and other charges to be charged to the villa with payment made upon departure.
We have an excellent Kid’s Club at Tryall which is located next to the Tennis Pro-Shop. Here all sorts of activities are on-hand for children to enjoy and if you would like to take advantage of hiring one of our experienced Penn State certified nannies to care for your little ones whilst you play tennis, golf or simply desire downtime, just let us know in advance through Guest Services. During peak demand periods, we offer many different activities for children – the scavenger hunts being especially popular. Our tennis programme caters to all ages and abilities and the children’s tuition is especially good, conducted by one of our Pros.
We are set amidst 2,200 acres of natural splendor. With steep hills and oceanside panoramas, we offer the perfect environment for early morning walks, jogs, runs, or quiet meditation. You will see many guests out and about at dawn and throughout the day to dusk. It is a wonderful way to not only keep fit amongst clean, clear air but also a great way of making new friends. For lovers of flora and fauna we are a wonderland and we offer guided walks to spot the birds of Jamaica – especially popular with children -, discover our many specimen trees and for history buffs, you can take a guided tour of the many Tryall sites that are recognized as being part of Jamaica’s national heritage. Our two hiking trails are extremely popular as they offer an insight into the unblemished natural Jamaican forest. You can enjoy these alone or ask to be accompanied by one of our environmentalists.
No visit to Jamaica is complete without discovering more about this magnificent island country. Our touring partner, Island Routes, has an office close to the Commissary and the staff will be happy to make recommendations and arrangements for you.
At Tryall you can be as social or as private as you want – the choice is yours. We welcome all guests to join us at the weekly Manager’s Cocktail Party, which is held in the winter months down by the main beach prior to the Jamaica Night party and in the summer months up at the Great House. This is a great opportunity to meet and mingle with other guests and homeowners who may be in residence whilst enjoying light entertainment in a balmy Caribbean evening environment.
Each afternoon at four o’clock, we serve complimentary afternoon tea at the Great House. Join us for a selection of fine teas, finger sandwiches, and pastries and during the winter season admire the art exhibitions that we host on a weekly basis.
Our guests may have special milestones, and moments to celebrate while vacationing at the Club. If guests wish to have special events at the villa with additional invited guests that are not registered at that particular villa, it is mandatory to advise the Club prior to arrival or, at least 48 hours before the desired event so that the required approval from the homeowner may be obtained. Failure to do this may result in the homeowner’s decision to terminate the rental agreement and without a refund.
And finally, when it comes time to leave us, you do so with a suitcase full of clean clothes as well the assurance that when you return to us, each member of your villa staff will not only remember you by name but be there to greet you with welcome arms.
