Golf at Tryall

Golf is as much a part of The Tryall Club as the magnificent villas and the ocean views. The course is integral to the Club’s fabric, twisting and winding through the estate as it makes it way down to the coastline. Rated as one of the Caribbean’s finest, our course is both challenging and beautiful with a fascinating heritage.

It didn’t take long for Tryall’s founders to start building a golf course. Just three years after opening the club they employed celebrated course designer Ralph Plummer to create a course that would work with the estate’s unique topography. Plummer’s design cleverly blends the 17th century sugar plantation’s layout with the coastline and the landscape’s natural features.

Today, Tryall offers everything you could want from a 21st century course. Audubon certified since 2010, extensively rebuilt and improved it is now of a higher-quality than ever, complete with modern irrigation systems. Plummer’s original concept remains – the design uses natural hazards unique to the location, such as the trade winds – with the addition of an ocean-side fourth hole to create a new challenges for every golfer.

Anyone can play at Tryall. Whether you’re a complete beginner, a serious amateur or experienced player there’s plenty for you here. Our Golf Academy offers expert tuition for everyone, with small classes with plenty of instructors means you’ll get the attention you need to improve your game.

Modern doesn’t have to mean busy. The private nature of the club means that the greens never get crowded, allowing you to play in peace and enjoy the surroundings. Come and experience a world-class course that has challenged and delighted the likes of Nick Faldo and Ernie Els.

During the summer of 2016, the back 9 holes were successfully renovated and the results highly acclaimed by our members as well as guests. Throughout the summer of 2017 we will renovate the front 9 holes, closing them from 13th May until the beginning of November. During this time we will undertake a complete reconstruction of all front 9 greens complexes, the practice putting green and the chipping green. New Tifeagle Ultra-Bermuda grass will be laid in on the putting surfaces and their surrounds modified to incorporate new design elements that will enhance visual appeal and playability. We will also install a new irrigation system on all front 9 holes.

During the renovation period the back 9 holes will remain open as will the driving range. Members and guests who wish to play 18 holes during this period can play the back 9 twice. Multiple tee box options will be available in order to give a different feel to the course. All green fees during this period will be charged at our 9 hole rates regardless of whether the golfer plays 9 or 18 holes. Members and guests can also take advantage of a preferential 18 hole rate of US$109 per person (green fee, cart and caddy fee) at Cinnamon Hill and White Witch golf courses. Our Guest Services can advise costs for transportation to Rose Hall where both courses are located.

Dates for the 2018 Invitational Pro Am are confirmed as 10 - 13 January
